Our client, a fortune 500 company and leader in their industry, is looking for a site Process Engineer for their flagship production facility in Central PA. We are seeking a hands on Process Engineer with experience in supporting manufacturing operations with technical and engineering support in a chemical plant, monitor existing plant operations and implement new process improvement ideas to assure the plant meets key plant goals and objectives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: BS in Chemical Engineering, along with 5+ years industrial experience in Specialty Chemicals, Emulsion polymers or related industries and related functions outlined in job description Must have excellent problem solving skills and an analytical approach to tasks as well as the ability to communicate (written and verbal) results effectively. Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus Experience with the scale up of new processes desired Ability to use proficiently various software applications essential to technical performance and able to manage multiple priorities Prior experience with batch chemical processing and post addition desired.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Participate in technical and engineering initiatives for the commercialization of new products. Assist operations by monitoring daily plant operating conditions, process controls and laboratory analysis as required to optimize productivity and processes. Participate in the plant quality process by helping to identify and resolve quality issues. Responsible for developing manufacturing cost Responsible for scaling up laboratory data to commercial design Do detailed process material and energy balances on unit operations as required. Collect and evaluate process data for special plant studies and test projects Assist with SOP and training material development Summarize and report results. Assure that appropriate MOCs have been initiated and completed for process changes. Participate in unit HAZOPS and/or PHA. Assist operations in the development of unit operating procedures. Provide technical training to operations personnel for new projects/procedures. Recommend process improvements and initiate new projects as required to meet new safety and environmental regulations and/or improve compliance with existing regulations. Maintain proper contacts with research facility personnel to insure proper exchange of technical and operational information.
