Requirements: B.S. ChemE ONLY; 5-15 years of experience out of foods, corn processing, grain processing, soy protein manufacturing, ethanol or food additives. Industries that will not work include: specialty chemicals, petrochemicals, refining, pharmaceuticals, and resins/polymers. This client's first choice is someone with scale-up experience from pilot to full-scale production. An acceptable second choice would be an engineer with process optimization experience. Candidates must know how to perform heat & mass balances, how to optimize plant processes, and plus include: experience with product/process development, specification of new equipment, and knowledge of P&IDs.
Job Description: This person will be based at a production facility which also houses a research center and central engineering group, a site of approximately 800 people. This person's main function is to help scale up new products from concept all the way to full-scale production for the plant on-site and other plants in South America, China, and the U.S. This person will perform preliminary cost estimates for new and existing equipment to accommodate a new product or process. This person will also do data analysis using Excel spreadsheets. The main processes are grinding, milling, filtration, drying, fermentation, etc. This person will work with the project engineers on the selection of process equipment and oversee start-up. These products are used in food additives, ethanol, etc. |
