Requirements: B.S. ChemE ONLY; 3-15 years of experience and this person must have scale-up experience from bench to pilot and ideally including from pilot to full-scale. Inorganics experience is preferred, but they will take someone out of organics.
Job Description: This engineer will be one of two engineers in the pilot plant that reports to the pilot plant manager who himself is a Ph.D chemist. This site houses about 150 people and produces a mainly inorganic water treatment chemicals using drying, filtration, centrifugation, and mixing. This plant uses some reaction, about half and half batch and continuous. This facility has about 8 chemical engineers and has a handful of MEs and EEs. This engineer will do scale-up from bench to pilot to full-scale production. The focus of this position will be on development of new products, secondary focus will be to optimize existing processes on site. This engineer will be involved in specification of new equipment for the plant. Money has been allocated for the equipment and for expansion of the pilot plant. This is a brand new position. This company is family owned going back 3 generations; currently they have a plan to acquire other chemical companies and expand new product lines. Relocation includes: temp. living, realtors fees and closing costs. |
