Responsibilities Client, a manufacturer of specialty organic chemicals that has been around over 50 years, has a career opportunity in the Corporate Engineering group for a Chemical Engineer. Company is the technology leader in high performance plasticizers, food additives and industrial intermediates. They are in the process of completing an acquisition taht should provide greater opportunity. Client has given me the exclusive on this.

Requirements:
BS Chemical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years experience and a demonstrated record of performance in process and project engineering in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Minimum 5 years chemical plant experience. Specialty organics experience a plus.
Should have strong project management and process engineering skills including troubleshooting and optimizing plant processes and demonstrated results in operational and profitability improvement (i.e. t-shoot process, SPC, computer modeling, develop and conduct plant tests, analyze results,determine solutions and implement.) Six Sigma experience is a big plus otherwise should have experience with SPC, root cause analysis etc. Must be willing to travel up to 50% including Internationally.

Duties: This position is part of this companies central engineering group that supports multiple plant sites domestically and oversea's. The candidate will develop and manage capital projects at multiple sites and lead implementation teams at plant facilities within the organization. Person will provide process engineering expertise to maintain reliable plant operations and optimize processes, troubleshoot process problems, analyze results, determine solutions, develop and conduct plant tests and manage the implementation of process improvement projects. Other responsibilities may include; front end work on projects (design, equipment specification, cost estimation, AFE`s), lead PHA`s and environmental reviews, liaison with technology, business, manufacturing and other groups for successful project planning and train and mentor others in the group. Travel will be approx. 25-50% depending on the project.
