Client is a multi billion dollar corporation and one of the largest in their industry in the world. They have a number of plant sites nationwide. This is a high visibility position with potential for growth into a Director of Operations position. We have filled multiple plant mgr positions in the past with this client. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Chemistry, MBA a plus Ideally 10-15 years of progressive manufacturing experience, including two years of plant management experience, or four years of production manager experience at a large plant. Open to chemicals, resins, inks, paints or coatings experience. Knowledge of solvents a plus. Union experience desired. Lean/Six Sigma experience desired. Other skills: Managing and evaluating employees Responding to and handling complex change environments Managing plant operations PC skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applicable applications
Roles & Responsibilities Manages daily plant operations for a large, complex, unionized plant.
Manages a variety of projects and functional teams, develops reports and recommendations, and implements results; may present findings to management as required.
Manages the development and implementation of an overall production and manufacturing strategy in the plant, such as plant metrics, resource allocation, maintenance and safety programs, budget development, and capital and process improvement projects; ensures applicable measurements are met; typically involves multiple production lines and technologies, several shifts of employees, and a complex customer base.
Serves as a member of a management team to assist with developing broader manufacturing strategies and implements new strategies once approved; typically involves operations that span the business.
Manages the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Interprets and administers adherence to Union Contract parameters.
Administers and monitors the plant budget including allocating resources and approving expenditures; budget is large in scope and typically has full budget authority within a fiscal framework.
Manages, develops and implements plant goals and objectives based on limited direction from senior management, adjusts and modifies operations as appropriate, and ensures measurements are met.
Manages the development, analysis, and review of a variety of production reports to improve costs, employee commitment, safety, production lines, quality, efficiency, cycle times, volumes, and implements management changes as required. |
