| Responsibilities | Requirements: B.S. ME/EE/possibly ChemE; 5-25 years of experience. This company will take an EE out of a chemical or utilities plant who has high-voltage electrical/power distribution (480-13.8KV) experience even if they don't have boiler experience. They will also take an ME or ChemE who has boiler experience or utilities experience even if they don't have electrical experience. The ideal person would have both kinds of experience, boilers and high-voltage electrical experience. Pluses would be experience with compressed air, steam and wastewater experience. This person should know how to look at chemical plants or utilities plants and find ways to reduce energy costs. Job Description: This person will be assigned to a 300-person corn milling, ethanol and starch plant. This is a union facility with plenty of operating capital and potential. This position reports to the plant manager and is a new position. They presently have two large boilers on-site and are using natural gas (from pipeline suppliers) and landfill-gas from a waste pile in the area. These chemicals are currently causing scaling inside the boilers, and the boilers are also not operating at peak efficiency. The main responsibilities of this engineer will be to optimize the boilers and utilities and reduce overall energy costs. The secondary responsibilities will include maintaining the switch gear, motor, and utilities in the plant as well as reverse-osmosis filters and incoming city-water and wastewater supplies. Presently they have no electrical engineers on-site and have to contract these duties out. There are plans currently in the works to bring a smaller third boiler on-line to process the landfill-gas exclusively. This company has multiple U.S. plants and covers temporary living costs, moving of goods, realtors fees and closing costs as part of their relocation package. |
