| Responsibilities |
This is a key developmental position intended to build depth and flexibility in the manufacturing organization. The incumbent is someone with manufacturing/engineering experience who has the leadership potential, technical savvy and desire to move into higher levels of manufacturing management. As such, the incumbent will be exposed to Company's products/technology, manufacturing management systems and colleagues in key functions across the company in a position strategically designed to prepare an individual for higher/broader levels of responsibility. Because this is a grooming position, geographic flexibility is an essential requirement of the job, including the possibility of an International assignment.
Requirements: BS Chemical Engineer with 7-15 years of manufacturing or engineering experience, preferably with at least two years of front-line production management experience. Solid process expertise, preferably Six Sigma Black Belt. A proven, documented record of achievement. Strong management skills in planning, organizing, and motivating personnel that are not direct reports. A solid understanding of business principles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position manages manufacturing functions as assigned; measures and reports on manufacturing performance versus goals of the department; coordinates commercialization/integration of new products, processes and manufacturing sites; and leads key manufacturing initiatives. The incumbent will be someone who is capable of operating at a senior management level and has demonstrated exemplary initiative, work ethic, decision process, leadership, team work and ethical management.
General Description: Measures, tracks and reports on manufacturing performance versus goals and established metrics. Consolidates plant variance forecasts into weekly reports. Tracks progress of gap closure projects, key cost reduction initiatives, and corrective actions. Prepares monthly consolidated manufacturing reports. Provides support to manufacturing and engineering on major productivity and quality initiatives including 6 Sigma and Maintenance Excellence. Supports the development of company's product line by coordinating the commercialization of new products / processes between manufacturing and other business functions. Provides support to Plant Managers to resolve issues between Customer Service, Logistics and other corporate areas as needed. Maintains the quality specifications and packaging specifications for all products. Answers customer questions, investigates customer complaints or incidents, and tracks manufacturing NCR's through resolution. Performs such individual assignments as the Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering may direct; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the corporation, and where appropriate, the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
