EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred. 3-8 years experience in a progressive maintenance environment. Experience with equipment repairs such as: 3 phase electrical, MCC, pumps, electric motors, compressors, VFD, wiring and natural gas systems. Hands-on troubleshooting experience including: repair, design, recommend, install and program various control circuits, safety systems and various electrical instrumentation. Proven track record of developing an effective plant maintenance program. Ability to act as Project Engineer for capital improvements. Effective communication and leadership skills. Supervising in a union environment desirable. Ability to establish goals and set plant-wide priorities. Problem solving/troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems desirable. Good technical and mechanical knowledge base.
They are currently seeking a Maintenance Coordinator/Plant Engineer to work at their site near Morris IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and directing the efforts of the maintenance personnel in achieving effective preventative and continuous improvement of maintenance and repair systems.
DUTIES: Supervise the maintenance and repair of all major plant equipment and facilities. Supervise and provide leadership for plant engineers and parts clerk Establish/implement preventative and predictive maintenance system. Manage schedule of central maintenance, measure and improve effectiveness. Assist with capital projects as needed.
This position reports directly to the plant manager. The Plant Manager is specifically looking for this person to be a team player, with growth potential possibly into the operations side. Their plants are relatively small 40 - 60 people, with several salaried employees and the rest hourly. It is a Union environment (International Chemical Workers Union Council, UFCW, Local 203C). The position is a Plant Engineer/Maintenance Coordinator. This person will be responsible for organizing and directing the efforts of the maintenance personnel in achieving effective preventative and continuous improvement of maintenance and repair systems. This position will also require supervision of the maintenance and repair of all major plant equipment and facilities. Supervise and provide leadership for hourly maintenance mechanics.
