The Engineering Supervisor provides management and technical leadership to an entire engineering group or groups in their respective departments. The Engineering Supervisor may be responsible for:
a) assigning team leaders to specific teams or individual projects;
b) providing higher management with reports on project progress and costing;
c) preparing annual budgets for the department and follows budgetary expenditures to assure budgetary compliance;
d) providing progress reports on project progress and accounting period reports as required; and
e) functioning as a team leader of larger scope projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Supervisory duties and responsibilities include: a) writes and conducts annual performance appraisals and ensures regular feedback, coaching, and communication with group; b) provides development opportunities for staff to broaden and enhance skills and abilities; c) administers company policies and procedures in Quality Assurance; d) ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP and ISO), good housekeeping and safety policies; e) responsible for initial training of new employees and ongoing training of direct reports to ensure quality of work, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP and ISO), and other regulatory compliance; f) promotes Total Quality Management and emphasizes an environment to foster teamwork; and g) effective staffing of organization, including hires and dismissal of employees when needed.
•Organizes engineering projects and assigns supervisory and other personnel, as necessary.
•Supervises the progress of team efforts on a daily basis.
•Acts as budgetary signature on departmental projects.
•Executes tactical implementation of strategic plans.
•Assures compliance with company SOPs and policies.
•Develops annual budget requirements for the department.
•Holds regular group and individual departmental meetings.
•Supervises the introduction of new products/processes into prodution
•Assigns tasks to individual team members.
•Prepares progress reports on all departmental projects.
•Prepares verbal presentations to various company meetings.
•Participates in department decision making and develops department problem solving and communication skills.
•Attends departmental team meetings as necessary.
•Oversees and reviews the development of engineering designs and tests.
•Provide technical leadership and review for departmental projects.
•Provides effective communication with direct reports.


Requirements • BS Chemical or Mechanical Engineer. Advanced Engineering degree or MBA is desirable.
• Seven (7) years experience in engineering practice.
• Five (5) years experience in engineering management.
