Responsibilities Excellent career opportunity for a skilled and experienced Environmental Health and Safety professional. Based in our clients Memphis, TN manufacturing facility, the Site EH&S Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of elements of the plant's EHS management system to ensure compliance with the company's EHS standards and with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to the Site Manager, the EHS Manager also works closely with the Corporate Manager of EHS and influences, educates and motivates those responsible for site EHS performance. Successful candidates will lead the development and implementation of Corporate and Plant goals while maintaining an effective working relationship with government and regulatory agency personnel.

Requirements:
B.S. Degree (EHS Field or Engineering preferred), and a minimum of 10 years experience in EHS or 2 years in Chemical Plant EHS.
Excellent math skills, ability to interpret analytical results using the metric system and analyze data using basic statistics.
Proven computer proficiency with the ability to build and read Excel spreadsheets; ability to utilize the Internet, browse and research information such as government regulations and guidance.
Although the Environmental side of this position is important, the Health and Safety side is equally important. We are looking for strength in both areas.
The candidate should be knowledgeable in the implementation of Safety Programs and dedicated to enhancing the safety culture at the site.
The candidate should be experienced with leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
Knowledge of Workers Compensation laws is desired and a history of managing Workers Comp claims is a plus

Duties: include :
Interpreting regulations and applying them to achieve compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
He/she has a record of building and maintaining cooperative relationships both internally and externally including relationships with community members and regulatory and government agency personnel.
Devotes appropriate time to keep current with EPA (CAA, CWA, RCRA, EPCRA, etc.) and OSHA regulatory requirements that apply to the plant
Ensures that all permit limits and conditions are communicated and understood by those responsible for compliance
Negotiates flexible permits in support of the business plans
Responsible for development and submission of reports required by law and regulations and permits
Oversees system for investigating accidents, injuries, spills and releases, and permit exceedances and recommends improvements to prevent future situations
Maintains good working relationships with the community and represents the company on EH&S issues in meetings with community organizations and at public hearings
Manages the gathering of EH&S information and documentation for compliance assurance and reporting. Ensures that the plant maintains a centralized comprehensive records management system that conforms to the document retention periods
Knowledge and application of RCRA, CWA (pre-treatment standards) and CAA regulations including Title V permitting required. Knowledge and application of OSHA required.
