| Responsibilities | Long time client. I placed the plant mgr at this site. Opportunity with a global chemical company with 90 production facilities worldwide and 6 research centers in the US and overseas and is a producer of high-performance chemicals and polymers. Located in a somewhat rural part Southern, MN but close to a couple of very nice communities with good schools and low cost of living. Plant has less than 100 ppl. They filled this position about 1 1/2 years ago but that person is getting transferred. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum B.S. ChemE or other equivalent degree is required. Advanced Degree and Professional Certifications preferred. Minimum 8 years combined experience in regulatory/safety field. Minimum 5 years supervisory experience. Person should have experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally chemicals, but open to other process industries. Must have experience with safety and hygiene including OSHA compliance, hazardous permits, noise, lock out, tag out etc. Does not need to be strong in environmental since they will primarily supervise a person responsible for environmental issue`s. By the same token, they do not want an environmental only person. RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a staff level position that is a replacement for a person who is being transferred. High visibility position. Responsible for leading and directing the health, environmental, and safety departments focusing on continual improved performance. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local HES statutes and permits. Will supervise and mentor an environmental person. PSM is actually handled by engineering but person will have involvement with that. Demonstrated leadership abilities to include effective communications to diverse audiences, as well as strong organization, interpersonal and computer skills are essential. |
