Responsibilities Client is a multi billion dollar corporation and one of the largest in their industry in the world. They have a number of plant sites nationwide. POSITION SUMMARY: Manages the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental programs for the business group (8 manufacturing plants in U.S.). Responsibilities may include managing relationships with agencies, monitoring regulatory and legislative initiatives, and overseeing audit operations.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Eight years of progressive HSE experience, including two years of management and broad oversight of HSE programs.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Supervising and evaluating employees;
Managing comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs across operations;
Applying specialized technical knowledge in several areas of health, safety, and environmental issues;
Developing and implementing programs, policies, and procedures;
Interpreting and applying department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations;
Managing relationships between agencies, attorneys, and other parties;
PC skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other applicable applications;
Must be willing and able to travel

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
May supervise staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, and determining disciplinary actions when needed.
Leads the development, implementation, and administration of HSE programs for the business group.
Develops and implements internal HSE audit, training, and investigation processes and procedures.
Manages and/or performs a variety of investigations, analyses, and research that requires specialized knowledge in several HSE areas, develops reports and findings, and approves operational changes.
Assists with managing division relationships and the effective flow of information with regulatory agencies, plants, attorneys, and other effected parties; oversees investigations and audits, and negotiates resolutions when required.
Manages the collection of a variety of information, performs various tests and analyses, and completes appropriate logs and documentation.
Monitors regulatory and legislative initiatives, reviews outcomes, and assists with determining appropriate actions to ensure compliance and maintain efficient operations.
Serves as technical liaison to management regarding various HSE programs, conditions, and operations.
