| Responsibilities |
SUMMARY: This position manages the warehousing and related supply chain operations of the division. Responsibilities include overseeing warehousing locations, managing various warehousing elements of the supply chain, managing special projects across the division and leading other managers.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 10-15 years of warehousing/distribution experience to include eight years of management experience; prior work experience should be within the consumer packaged goods industry supplying to retail.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Master's Degree required (i.e. MBA preferred)
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Working with executive management; managing and evaluating employees; managing warehousing operations for multiple distribution centers Developing and implementing policies and procedures; developing and analyzing reports and actions Applying comprehensive warehousing and broad project management principles and practices; Interpreting and applying company policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations Monitoring budgets Providing consultation and advice on distribution and operational strategies and philosophies Analyzing and researching operational and strategic information and determining actions PC skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applicable applications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the distribution network of the business group; oversees 10 sites nationally. Provide leadership to the Warehouse management team; develop strategic vision for them and drive them to reach it; and provide coaching to the warehouse managers to ensure they achieve goals Manage 10 Warehouse Managers to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, and determining disciplinary actions when necessary Responsible for the overall warehousing operations of the Architectural locations, which includes the implementation and administration of warehousing and distribution programs, safety initiatives, applicable quality and efficiency improvement measures, and related areas Provide support to sites by making periodic visits to each of the sites to monitor progress towards goals, stay current with local operations and items of importance Lead the development and implementation of the overall warehousing and distribution strategy for the locations, such as distribution metrics, resource allocation, maintenance and safety programs, budget development, & capital/process improvement projects; ensures applicable measurements are met. Drive continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental performance; provide a safe work environment for the teams Responsible for the traffic department of the division Reviews and develops a variety of projects, serves on management teams, develops reports and recommendations, and presents them to management as required. Implement a new warehouse management system throughout all sites of the division Drive continuous improvement in productivity and financial performance at each of the sites Develop, analyze and review a variety of operational reports to improve quality, efficiency, cycle times, volumes, and implements operational changes as required. Develop appropriate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with warehousing and supply chain principles and practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations; monitors compliance with these areas Perform a variety of special projects for the division that require the application of comprehensive warehouse and supply chain and broad project management principles and practices
